Some funny old german post cards. Poor kitties.
After you look at these for awhile, you can see that they had holes in the backdrop for the kittens to put their heads through...just like those face-in-the-hole props at the county fair. It's pretty clever, actually. Nowadays we'd just use Photoshop, and the pictures would probably look even weirder.
